KABUL (Pajhwok): Former member of Wolesi Jirga, Allah Gul Mujahid has returned to the country, reconciliation commission said.
The reconciliation commission tweeted that Mujahid returned to Kabul from Iran on Sunday.
The source quoted Mujahid as saying: “I’m happy to return to homeland and asked those who left the country to use the decree of pardon and return to their country.”
Last month, the embassy of Afghanistan in Tehran wrote on its Twitter page that the head of the embassy, Maulvi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, met with Allah Gul Mujahid, a former member of the lower house.
Haqqani told the ex-MP: “Afghanistan is our common home and the Islamic Emirate has paved the way for the return of Afghans to their country.”
Mujahid thanked the acting ambassador of Afghanistan in Tehran and stressed mutual acceptance and expressed his desire to go to the country.
In 2021, security forces have captured Mujahid in his native area and after his release, based on unofficial reports, he left the country for Turkey and then went to Iran.
According to the reconciliation commission, a few days ago, former lawmakers of nomads in Wolesi Jirga, Habib Rahman Afghan, was also returned to the country.
