Newlywed girl commits suicide in Sar-i-Pul

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): A 19-year-old newlywed girl has allegedly committed suicide in the Sancharak district of northern Sar-i-Pul province.

Police spokesman Din Mohammad Nazari said the 19-year-old girls ended her life after opening fire at herself in Zanjan village of the district on Monday.

“Sar-i-Pul police investigations suggest that this girl got married 40 days ago without the presence of the groom, and this issue made her commit suicide,” he said.

According to Nazari, the husband of this girl had gone to Iran for work.

However, committing suicide is considered major sin in Islam and strictly forbidden.
