PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): There are a total of 276 schools in central Logar province and 76 of them are without building where students are taught under the tent or open sky.
Provincial education department spokesman Shahpur Arab told Pajhwok Afghan News that 76 schools lacked buildings and the students faced numerous problems due to the lack of buildings.
Arab said: “The problem of lack of school buildings in Logar is a serious problem and we have shared this with the Ministry of Education and some domestic and international institutions, but no practical action has been taken so far.”
Syed Muhammad, a student of Pashtunabad school in Pul-i-Alam, told Pajhwok that his school does not have a building and the students are taught under tents and the shadows of walls.
He said: “The students attend classes in the tent. Often many students do not come due to the rain and heat.” Other students held similar views.
