TALOQAN/QALA-I-NOW (Pajhwok): At least four people have been killed and 33 others wounded in separate traffic accidents in western Badghis and northern Takhar provinces, an official said on Tuesday.
Takhar police spokesman, Abdul Mubin Safi told Pajhwok Afghan News that a passenger vehicle heading to provincial capital from Rustaq district flipped over today morning in Gharshak Khwaja Khirat area due to recklessness of the driver.
He added, two people were killed and 18 others, including women and children, injured in the accident. The injured were evacuated to the district hospital.
In Badghis, two individuals were killed and 15 others wounded in a traffic accident.
Local sources said, the accidents took place while thousands of people collecting pistachios yield in the Maqur and Ab Kamari districts of the province.
According to provincial hospital, two bodies and 15 injured have been taken to the hospital from the accident site.
Dr. Ajmal Atif, an official of the civil hospital, told Pajhwok that two injured were in critical condition and shifted to Herat for better treatment.
