Tribal elder guns down son in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A tribal elder has gunned down his son in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Tuesday.

Police spokesman, Sher Ahmad Burhani confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that a tribal elder in Dand-i-Ghori area of Mamor Alam Jan Ahmadzai opened fire at his son after a verbal clash on Monday night.

He said that Ahmadzai’s son succumbed to his severe injuries in the hospital.

Meanwhile, Amir Ahmadzai, the cousin of the victim, told Pajhwok that Syed Jan was shot dead by his father.

He added: "Syed Jan was immediately taken to the hospital after being shot, but lost his life at the hospital.”

According to him, Syed Jan served as the head of the 2^nd police district of Pul-i-Khumri in previous government and was currently jobless.
