MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Uzbekistan’s special representative for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev has said his country’s main goal is to establish positive bilateral ties with Afghanistan.
The provincial Media and Information Center in a statement said Balkh governor met with Uzbekistan special representative for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev and his delegation.
Ismatulla Irgashev was quoted as saying his country wanted to establish positive relations with Afghanistan and increase.
He desired increased cooperation between the two countries in areas of trade and to promote the economy of both countries through exports and imports.
He also said Uzbek officials would hold a meeting with their Afghan counterparts on resolving all existing commercial and transportation problems.
Ismatulla Irgashev assured further development of trade between the two countries and said his country would provide all kinds of assistance to Afghanistan for economic development.
Balkh Governor Mohammad Yousaf Wafa said the Islamic Emirate wanted good relations with other countries for economic development.
He said the caretaker government had formed a committee to solve trade related problems with neighboring countries.
The governor said good investment opportunities were available in Afghanistan as security was fully ensured.
He also asked the special representative of Uzbekistan to relax the visa regime for Afghan businessmen.
