KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi has asked the international community to lift sanctions imposed on businesses of the people of Afghanistan besides continuation of humanitarian aid.
MoFA deputy spokesman Zia Ahmad Takal wrote on his Twitter page today that Muttaqi met UN special representative for Afghanistan Roza Otunbayeva and new humanitarian affairs officer Daniel Andris.
Andris was introduced to Muttaqi during the meeting on his third mission to Afghanistan in the past three decades. He arrived in Afghanistan this time when the war has ended and security and stability returned.
Otunbayeva shared information with Muttaqi about the outcome of international meetings regarding Afghanistan held in the past few weeks.
According to Takal, Muttaqi assured Daniel Andris of all kinds of cooperation and wished him success in his new assignment.
The minister said humanitarian aid to Afghanistan should have positive impact on the common people.
He said the international community should remove restrictions imposed on business of Afghans and provide them with the opportunity to do honorable business.
