KABUL (Pajhwok): Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured the public that his government would hand over the reins to an interim setup in August, according to a media report.
In a televised address to the nation, PM Sharif announced that his government would hand over the reins to an interim administration in August, facilitating a smooth transition leading up to the upcoming general elections, Outlook India reported.
Sharif, who also serves as the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party, declared that Parliament would complete its term on August 14, paving the way for the interim government and subsequent elections.
Sharif emphasized that his administration had successfully addressed the challenges.
