KABUL (Pajhwok): Four policemen were killed and another 12, including seven policemen, were injured in a suicide and gun attacks in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, media reports said on Thursday.
Radio Mashal reported that two policemen were killed and 10 people were injured after one of two suicide attackers detonated his explosives at the entrance to the tehsil office compound in old Bara bazaar in Khyber district.
The radio quoted Bara police chief Akbar Khan Afridi as saying that two heavily armed men tried to enter the tehsil office and one of them opened fire and was injured in exchange of fire with police.
The injured bomber detonated his explosives-filled vest and the second bomber also blew himself up at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the building, killing two policemen and injuring 10 others, including five policemen.
Meanwhile, VoA Deewa Radio reported that two policemen were killed and as many injured in a militant attack in Peshawar.
The radio quoted police sources as saying that unknown attackers opened fire at the Regi police check point near Subhan Sher Chowk.
Policemen Noorul Haq, Feroz, Wajid and Siyar were on duty at the checkpoint when they came under attack.
Two of the mentioned persons were killed and two others were injured in the attack, with one in critical condition.
Two days ago, a suicide attack left six paramilitary personnel injured in Hayatabad area of Peshawar.
