Nadeem, Durrani talk visas to Afghan students, scholarships

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting higher education minister Maulvi Neda Mohammad Nadeem and Pakistan’s special representative Asif Durrani discussed a number of matters of mutual interest including giving Afghan youth 3,000 scholarships.

The Ministry of Higher Education in a statement said Nadeem met Durrani at his office in Kabul.

Congratulating Asif Durrani on his new job, Nadeem hoped educational and academic relations between the two countries would develop.

The acting minister stressed improved academic cooperation between Afghanistan and Pakistan as both countries enjoyed religious and cultural commonalities.

Both sides discussed problems Afghan students faced in obtaining visas, giving 3000 scholarships to Afghan youths and mutual cooperation in improving the capacity of teachers of both countries.

Asif Durrani promised to cooperation in the mentioned areas and assured that the existing problems would be solved.

“We are working on an educational mechanism to provide more better opportunities to Afghan students.”
