Mullah Amanullah Shabbir, director of telecommunication and information technology, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Since last two weeks, the installation of 17 new towers of telecommunication networks has been ongoing in different areas of Helmand and would be completed soon.”

He said the towers were being installed in Marja, Nad Ali, Greshk, Nahar Saraj, Sangin, Musa Qala, Kajaki, Washer and Nawaz districts and Lashkargah.

He added telecom services would reach most areas of the province with activation of the towers.
