JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least two people have been killed and four others wounded as a result of traffic accident in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.
Ashiqullah Sadat, a traffic department, officer, told Pajhwok Afghan News the collision between two cars occurred in the Hakimabad area of Khogyani district on Friday afternoon.
He said two people lost their lives in the incident, which left four others including a woman wounded.
The deceased and the injured were travelling in a Suzuki Alto car, which was struck by Toyota Corolla vehicle, whose driver managed to escape, he added.
The official blamed the collision on what he called recklessness of the drivers.
Mohammad Gulab, a resident of the area, said: “The accident occurred due to high speeding by both drivers.”
