KABUL (Pajhwok): Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth $45 million have been signed between local and foreign traders while worth 50 million afs business activities conducted during the seven days Imam-i-Abu Hanifa national and International exhibition, an official said on Sunday.
The second Imam-i-Abu Hanifa Exhibition was launched last Sunday in the Afghanistan International Exhibition Centre by the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) and with the cooperation from other relevant orgnaisations.
ACCI Deputy Head Mohammad Younis Momand said 70 stalls were allocated to the products from Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan and Turkey in which these countries put their products on display.
He said 500 small and large scale MoUs worth $45 million inked between local and foreign businesspersons while business transactions worth 50 million afs also carried out.
He stressed Afghanistan wanted cordial ties with all nations keeping in mid its supreme national interest.
Acting Commerce Minister Noorudin Aziz assured of organizing such exhibitions in the future in order promote Afghanistan’s economic image and regain its position in the region.
He said a government delegation with the support of private sector will participate in an exhibition in Kazakistan where Afghanistan’s national products would be put on display in 70 stalls.
Some businesspersons and stallers also termed the exhibition effective and demanded the continuation of such exhibitions and support for private sector.
It is pertinent to mention that the first Imam-i-Abu Hanifa Exibition was held last year in November for one week in which over 700 companies took part.
