FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Lakes in northeastern Badakhshan province which are attractive tourist spots are being registered and introduced to tourists, an official said on Monday.
Information and Cultural Affairs Director Maazuddin Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the Topkhana and tens of other lakes were the most attractive tourist spots in the province would be introduced to foreign tourists and tourist companies.
He said the Topkhana Lake was situated on border with Pakistan’s Chatral and the Sanglech village of Badakhshan’s Zebak district. According to the local people the lake is 1,800 metres deep and 1,000 metres wide.
Ahmadi said on the bases of the Land Authority, the lake occupied 245 square metre acres land and different types of fishes and other water creature existed.
After the takeover of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) over all security had been established nationwide, local and foreign tourists visited the Chaqmaqtin, Topkhana, Shewa, Arghanjwa, Bashand lakes Waterfalls, rare world wildlife, handicrafts and other interesting tourist spots.
He asked tourist to visit Badakhshan province without hesitation get the pleasure nature.
Safiullah, one of the tourists, said security situation was good and there no problem and no unfortunate things happened to them. He said the brotherhood and friendliness of the people of Badakhshan was unprecedented and never noticed in the past.
Sherzad, another youth who came from Faizabad to Topkhana lake asked local and foreign tourist to visit Badakhshan province, witness the nature and have unforgettable memories.
