2 weeks on, bodies of 3 miners remain trapped in Samangan

AIBAK (Pajhwok): Serious efforts have been ongoing to retrieve the bodies of three miners trapped underground two weeks ago in Dara-i-Sauf Bala district of northern Samangan province.

Officials in Samangan say three miners were presumed dead after they trapped inside the coalmine two weeks ago. Their bodies have not been found yet.

Samangan Information and Culture director Ferozuddin Munib told Pajhwok Afghan that four miners  were trapped inside the coalmine about two weeks ago.

He said so far one dead body had been retrieved, but the remains of the three others were yet to be found.

He said that serious efforts were being made to retrieve the bodies.

Similar incidents have taken place at the coalmine in Dara-i-Sauf Bala district in the past.
