ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Qatari and United States foreign ministers have discussed the situation in Afghanistan and other issues of bilateral interest.
The state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani had a telephone conversation with his US counterpart Anthony Blinken on Monday.
The top diplomats discussed in detail relations between the two countries and a lingering nuclear weapons row between the US and Iran.
According to the report, the leaders also conferred on the current situation in Afghanistan, especially humanitarian aid to Afghans.
The foreign minister of Qatar had held talks with Russian officials during his visit Moscow two days ago.
