KABUL (Pajhwok): An eight-member gang of thieves involved in stealing mobile phones has been arrested in capital Kabul, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Thursday.
MoI spokesman Mufti Abdul Matin Qani wrote on his twitter page that security forces of the second police district detained an eight-member gang of professional thieves.
Meanwhile, Abdul Qayom Badri, crime branch chief of the second police district, in a video clip said: “ This group was involved in stealing mobile phones in Deh Afghanan, Cinema-Pamir, Chowk and Shahr-e-Naw areas which was arrested as a result of security forces operation.”
One of the detainees in a video clip identified himself as Qasim and said: “We would steal iPhones in first and second police district, we stole 35 iPhones, however we were arrested in the second police district, we want the Islamic Emirate to forgive us, we will not do this illegal acts in the future.”
Meanwhile, another robber Mohammad Hassan said he would steal mobile phones in DehAfghanan, Cinema-Pamir and Chowk areas and regretted his acts and urged the IEA to pardon and release him.
