CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): A fire breakout in the Bagram district of central Parwan province has caused a loss of three million afghanis. Separately, one person died in a traffic accident and security forces recovered a cache of ammunition.
Police spokesman Mohammad Kamran Zayed said the fire broke out in a wood sawmill in Qala-i-Khwaja area of Bagram district on Monday.
He said the blaze reduced to ashes carpentry tools and accommodation room of workers.
He added: “The fire was controlled in cooperation with fficials of the fire brigade department, no one was harmed, but the fire caused a financial loss of three million afghanis.”
He said the reason behind the fire was yet to be ascertained.
On the other hand, the Directorate of Strategic Relations and Public Affairs said that security forces had recovered a large number of ammunitions in Bagram district.
Without providing details, the directorate said the ammunition included hand grenades, firecrackers, landmines, a large number of different shells and bullets.
The police headquarters said a motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car in Barikab area of the district late on Sunday.
