TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Security forces destroyed 13 narcotics producing factories and 31,500 kilograms of ephedra plant in Charchino and Khas Uruzgan districts of central Uruzgan province on Thursday, officials said.
Ihsanullah Hamas, governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News security forces seized and destroyed 22,500kg of ephedra plant from 13 factories during an operation in Zambari area of the Charchino district.
He added the ephedra plant had been collected in the area by some individuals to make drugs from it in the factories.
No one has been arrested in connection with the factories and drugs, he informed.
