MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Building for a primary girls’ school has been completed at a cost of $225,000 and put into service in Shirin Tagab district of northern Faryab province.
Maulvi Hafizullah Motasem Billah, director of education, told Pajhwok Afghan News that construction work of the school building was completed with financial support of Norway through an institute.
He asked local people and the local education council to take care of the structure.
He added students of the school would attend lessons under scorching sun and under trees due to lack of a suitable place, but now the problem has been solved.
Eng Saifuddin, a representative of Dart Institute in Faryab, said the building was constructed in 9 months and has six classrooms, an office room, a library, a security room, a kitchen, seven toilets, a water well, tables, chairs and boundary wall.
On the other hand, Maulvi Obaidullah Mokhbet, Shirin Tagab district education officer, said there were 52 schools in the district including high, middle and primary and two centers of Islamic education. He said 21 of the schools had no buildings and their students attended classes under the open skies or in people's guest houses.
He said imaginary schools, teachers and imaginary students had disappeared and people's interest in education had increased.
Hamidullah, a member of the Education Council, expressed his satisfaction with the construction of the school building.
He said the school was established in 2010, but due to the lack of a building, its students attended classes under the shade of trees with many difficulties.
