ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has met Nail Olpac, the head of Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEiK), and other businessmen.
A statement from his office said the deputy prime minister the Turkish entrepreneurs in Istanbul on trade-related issues and investment opportunities in Afghanistan.
Baradar assured Afghan and Turkish businessmen of improved security in Afghanistan, saying the ground had been paved for investments, according to the statement.
He said the Islamic Emirate supported businessmen and traders by providing them more facilities in areas of mining, agriculture, power generation, communications, trade and other sectors.
Comprehensive information was shared with participants on investment opportunities in Afghanistan and the facilities provided by the interim government.
The participants and representatives of companies with the experience of doing business in Afghanistan evinced their interest in investing and grabbing the available opportunities.
The Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEiK), established in 1985, has the experience of successful investments in 152 countries of the world.
A number of Afghan businessmen also participated in that meeting.
Earlier, Baradar met Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and other officials of the host country on issues of bilateral interest.
