ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Over30,000 Afghan refugees had been sent back to Afghanistan in the past one month, according to Iranian security forces on Friday.
Iranian media quoted Sardar Raza Shujaee, commander of the Iranian border forces in Sistan Balochistan province, saying that these illegal Afghans were sent back through Milek border crossing back to Afghanistan.
“Foreigners should use legal means for coming or staying in Iran otherwise individuals entering Iran illegally would be sent back,” he said.
According to the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Iran is the second country hosting the largest number of Afghan refugees which is 4.5 million.
