KABUL (Pajhwok): Marking 104th independence day, the Islamic Emirate on Saturday said it believed in healthy relations with countries of the region and the world based on Islamic Sharia and hoped others would choose what was good for everyone.

The Afghans celebrated the 104th anniversary of the independence of their country from the British on Saturday.

Islamic Emirate spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in a statement published on his X handle on the occasion of Independence Day, said the Afghans expelled the powerful occupying armies of the 19th century from their pure land with the help of Allah (swt) and following unprecedented sacrifices and gained independence.

“The Islamic Emirate as an independent and legitimate system believes in healthy relations with countries of the region and the world based on Islamic Sharia law. The Islamic Emirate has never wanted to cause harm to anyone and others should also choose policies that serve the interests of all.”

The statement said the British invading armies had been defeated twice before in Afghanistan with the help of Allah (swt) and this was their third defeat.

“Later, the arrogant British Empire was unable to maintain oppression of other colonies in the world and the Afghans were credited for the collapse of this super power of the 19th century.”

“We feel pride celebrating the day of regaining independence from British colonialism four days after we celebrated the defeat of American colonialism.”

“With Allah Almighty’s help, the British colonialism was defeated at the hands of the Afghans and after that the defeat of the Russian army and the disintegration of the Soviet Union, and then the defeat of the American and NATO forces showed that Afghanistan is unconquerable and its people are staunch Muslims, they are united and love independence”.

The statement said the faithful people of Afghanistan had always been oppressed, but they had never the intention to oppress and harm other countries and peoples.

Unfortunately, other superpowers had violated the rights and interests of Afghans, but it yielded no result and on the contrary, the aggressors regretted their actions.

The Islamic Emirate congratulated the nation on the independence day and said it was committed to protecting the religious values, beliefs, thoughts and culture preserved by the sacrifices of the Mujahideen ancestors.

The Ministry of Defense celebrated the 104th independence day by organizing special ceremonies.
