Drugs processing factory destroyed in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A large drugs processing factory has been discovered and destroyed in Tala wa Barfak district of northern Baghlan province, police said on Wednesday.

Baghlan police spokesman Maulvi Sher Ahmad Burhani told Pajhwok Afghan News police destroyed a drug processing factory during a special operation in Tala wa Barfak district last night.

He said eight barrels of chemical using in making ice or glass, nine barrels of materials used in making heroin, eight cartons of acid and some other materials were recovered from the factory and destroyed.

Deputy police chief Abdul Ghayur Khadim told Pajhwok that the operation was carried out in Dara Ashraf village and three people were also arrested.

It comes a few months after security forces destroyed a drug production factory in Andrab district.
