PARAKH (Pajhwok): A new ancient site --- Pasta --- has been discovered and identified in the Paryan district of central Punjsher province, an official said on Wednesday.
Information and Cultural Affairs Director Nasrullah Malakzada said initial information of the department showed that his site situated in the Paryan valley has the history before the advent Islam.
He said Buddhist lived in the area 4,000 years ago.
Malakzada said: “For more information historians from the Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs should visit the area closely.”
Mohammad Sabir Danishjoy, deputy head of the tourism section, said: “pieces of different items found here showed that Buddhist lived in this place during winter adopting different culture.”
Earlier, the Information Department also informed about the discovery of a new ancient site in the Hisa-i-Awal district of Panjsher.
