Russia claims shooting down drone outside Moscow

KABUL (Pajhwok): Russia shot down a drone outside Moscow in the wee hours of Wednesday, the state-run TASS news agency reported.

Another drone struck a building under construction in the capital city, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin was quoted as saying.

“Air defenses downed a drone in the Mozhaisky district of the Moscow Region, while another unmanned aerial vehicle hit a building under construction in the city,” the mayor wrote on Telegram.

Sobyanin said preliminary reports indicated there were no casualties in the drone strike.

According to an unnamed aviation official, Moscow’s airports had been temporarily closed for flights.

The building under construction was slightly damage, with an emergency official saying. “Several window openings were knocked out.”
