KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Police have seized dozens of light and heavy weapons and military equipment during the last two months in southeastern Khost province, an official said on Wednesday.
Maulvi Mohammad Rasoul Watanmal, director of anti-terrorism department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a number of intelligence-based clearance operations were conducted in the past two months.
He said during the operations, 30 different types of weapons, thousands of Kalashnikov and Pika bullets, four night vision goggles and other equipment were seized.
According to Watanmal, 22 people have been arrested and they will be handed over to judicial bodies after the completion of their cases.
He asked the people to stand by their security forces and not allow anyone to commit bad things.
