PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered a halt to gur (jaggery) exports to neighbouring Afghanistan.
While directing the Customs Department to enforce the Export Policy Order of 2022, the court sought from it comments within a fortnight.
Muttahida Enterprises, a private company, has petitioned PHC against the authorities’ refusal to let it export jiggery to Afghanistan.
The company claimed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was authorising Punjab-based firms to export the commodity.
However, the petitioner said, it was denied the facility on the ground that jiggery exports were not allowed under the Export Policy Order . . .
