NEILI (Pajhwok): Tofan Shahristan won the Independence Day Futsal Tournament in Neili, the capital of central Daikundi province, on Thursday.
Officials said organising the tournament was aimed at promoting sports, selecting best athletes and uniting youth.
The competition, which commenced a month ago, featured 32 teams, with Tofan Shahristan and Ariana Leisure finding their way to the final.
Ariana did not turn up for the final and referees declared Tofan Shahristan champions of the event.
The organising committee declared Juma Khan Safari as the best player of the tournament and Nasrullah Qasimi the best goalkeeper.
