JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Construction work on a sub-road that would cost 19 million afghanis has been launched in Jalalabad city, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province.
Jalalabad Municipality spokesman Bakhtijan Murad told Pajhwok Afghan News the one kilometer sub-road was being constructed in Khosh Gambad area of 9th police district.
He added the road will being basically constructed. He added the road project would consume 19m afs funded by the municipality and would take six months to complete.
On the other hand, residents of the area are also happy over the launch of the road project.
Ismatullah, a resident of the area, told Pajhwok the road was a major demand of local people as it would facilitate them and patients would be easily transported to hospital and farmers would also benefit from it.
He urged the municipality to implement more such projects in others parts of the city.
On the other hand, officials of the Jalalabad Municipality also assured balanced development, saying they would implement various projects from their own revenue in all districts of the city.
