SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Three persons have been arrested over smuggling more than 1,000 kilograms of ephedra plant in Kohistan district of northern Sar-i-Pul province, police said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the police headquarters said police seized 1190kg of ephedra plant loaded in a truck en route to Faryab province from Kohistan district.
According the statement, the plant is used in making and processing drugs.
The detainees would be referred to judicial organs after preliminary investigation.
