HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Some youth in western Herat province have linked growing migration of educated people with unemployment despite improves security nationwide.
Ahmad Zahir Nab, one of the Herat Youth, told Pajhwok Afghan News the only concern of educated people in the country was unemployment, adding that there was no work opportunity available to them in the country.
“Unemployment forced youth and professional individuals to leave the country and now youth started believing that government considered education and professional people in society as common people,” he said.
Nab said unemployment forced youth to choose illegal means for migration and go to the neighbouring and other countries to earn livelihood.
Ahmad, another Herat youth, said currently youth and professional individuals are at home and there is no work opportunities for them.
He said it was government responsibility to absorb professional and qualified individuals in the government posts and get full advantage of their knowledge in promoting the capacity and strength of the government system.
Social Affairs experts in Herat also believed that youth was the most effective and important segment of the society and stressed over the generation for work opportunities for them.
