KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan Railways Authority (ARA) officials met with representatives of Iranian companies and asked them to invest in the Afghan railways sector.
ARA wrote on its X page the Afghan delegation to Iran, led by ARA head Bakht Rahman Sharafat, held detailed discussions with Iranian companies about railways projects.
The Iranian companies were invited to invest in Afghanistan's railways projects and they were assured of necessary cooperation and coordination.
It quoted ARA head as saying that construction of the second phase of the fourth section of the Khaf-Herat railway line was one of ARA priorities and it was seriously pursuing it.
Also, a member of the Iranian consortium provided information about their capabilities, goals and expertise and said that a number of these companies were engaged transportation, maintenance and care, construction, development and management of railways and each had enough experience.
Led by Mullah Sharafat, the Afghan delegation has been in Iran at official invitation of the Iran Railway Administration.
