KABUL (Pajhwok): The 2023 World Cup trophy arrived in Kabul on a two-day tour on Thursday, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said.

Syed Naseem Sadat, spokesman for ACB, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the World Cup trophy reached Kabul this morning.

During the two-day tour of Afghanistan, the trophy would be displayed in different provinces to promote cricket there, he said..

This year’s ODI World Cup will kick off on October 5. The trophy began its tour in India, the host of the tournament, on June 27.

It has also travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the United States, West Indies, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Italy, France, England and Pakistan.

Ten teams will vie for the coveted trophy from October 5 to November 19, with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosting the opener and the final.
