18-year-old boy commits suicide in Sar-i-Pul

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): A 18-year-old boy has committed suicide by hanging himself to death in the Kohistanat district of northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Sunday.

Police spokesman Din Mohammad Nazari told Pajhwok Afghan News Ahmad Rashed, 18, was a resident of Pasni village. He ended his life by hanging himself on Saturday afternoon.

The motive behind the suicide is yet to be known, but police are investigating the incident, according to the spokesman.

Suicide is a major sin in Islam and is strictly forbidden.
