MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): A campaign to bring out-of-school children to schools has been launched in the provincial capital of eastern Laghman province, the provincial education director said on Monday.
Maulvi Shah Jahan Sajid told Pajhwok Afghan News the campaign “students enrollment in schools” was launched in Mehtarlam city and five districts.
He said parents, tribal elders, principals of schools and influential figures were taking part in the campaign.
He said the campaign would continue for 12 days and its participants would urge families to send their children to schools.
Mehtarlam residents praised the campaign.
Wahidullah, a resident of Ghazi Abad area in Alishang district, told Pajhwok they were ready to send their children to schools for education.
He said the campaign to encourage families to enroll their children in schools was respectable.
