KABUL (Pajhwok): The customs office in Gardez, the capital of southeastern Paktia province, has been shifted to the border town of Dand Patan in order to facilitate traders, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) said on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Finance wrote on its X page said the relocation was aimed at facilitating traders to easily complete customs clearance procedures for export and import of goods and to prevent customs revenue loss.
The ministry said traders had to obtain domestic transit form (T1) for their goods at the border customs office in Dand Patan district and then go to Gardez to complete other customs procedures and this wasted a lot of time.
After this, the Ministry of Finance said all stages of customs clearance of commercial cargos would be carried out at Dand Patan customs office.
The ministry said the General Directorate of Customs was planning to transfer some other customs offices to the country’s borders in future keeping in view available resources.
