ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Four sales and telecommunication offices of Roshan Telecommunication Company has been closed in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Thursday.
Syed Abdul Ali Yasinzai, the Afghanistan Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (ATRA) director, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “All Roshan Telecommunication Company offices in Nirmorz were closed in front of the intelligence officials over ATRA’s rules and regulations violation.”
He said after the investigation of complaints from local people it was found that Roshan Company conducted some acts which were against ATRA’s rules and regulations.
The said the reason behind the closure of Roshan offices were the sale of 70 SIM Cards on fake ID cards, forcing the activation of packages, recovery of Iranian SIM Cards from its offices, high SIM Card prices and owning SIM Cards activation network.
He said: “The price of each SIM card should be 75 to 100 afghanis, while people complain and there is a document that they have sold the SIM card for up to 500 afghanis and they tell people that we will not give you a SIM card until you activate the package, forcing people They made them to activate packages and distributed several SIM cards with one ID card.”
Fazal Ahmad, a local resident, said Roshan Company service had deteriorated recently and charge high amount of fee on phone calls.
“When I want to call the Roshan network, I call ten times, sometimes I go to the roof to catch the signals antenna, most people here use Roshan SIM Card so I have to also use it.”
Ayesha, the resident of Kang district, said: “For years Roshan Company is not operating properly in Kang district, people most of the time use Iranian telecommunication networks to connects with others.”
One of the Roshan Company employee on the condition of anonymity said: “We are not allowed to speak on this issue.”
