FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A fire gutted goods worth more than one million afghanis in a commercial market in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar told Pajhwok Afghan News the blaze broke out in Akhar Guldan area of Faizabad, the provincial capital, on Sunday morning.
He said preliminary information suggested the fire reduced to ashes goods worth more than one million afghanis in two shops.
He added no one was hurt in the fire and firefighters rushed to the area and extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby shops.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
