MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): The extraction of nephrite stone from deposits in Tagab district of central Kapisa province has begun.

Enayatullah Iblagh, Kapisa Mines and Petroleum director, told a ceremony in this regard: “We feel proud taking steps for our country’s development and creating jobs for the people.”

He said the contract of the nephrite extraction project in Torghundai area was awarded to Khairkhwah private company for five years and two blocks of the deposits were spread over 71 hectares of land.

Officials assured that in near future, the process of extracting Birouj stone from five mines will be started in Alasai district, which, according to them, will create jobs for hundreds of Kapisa residents.

Saadullah Maiwandi, Khairkhwah company head, said more than 600 residents of Taqab and other parts of Kapisa were hired to extract nephrite stone.

Bahrullah, one of the workers, asked the Islamic Emirate to establish nephrite stone processing factories to create jobs and pave the way for the country’s self-sufficiency.
