FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A security official was killed after the car he was traveling in plunged into Kokcha River in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Ehsabullah Kamgar told Pajhwok Afghan News the security official was traveling to Baharak district from Faizabad city when his car plunged into the Kokcha River this morning.
He identified the victim as supply head of border battalion of the 219th Crops. His body was pulled from the water and a team from Baharak district took the body to the provincial capital.
The police spokesman blamed the accident on high speed and recklessness.
