KABUL (Pajhwok: A UN official will visit Pakistan to discuss with officials extension of immigration documents of Afghan refugees and issuance of documents to undocumented refugees.
The Ministry of Refugee and Repatriation (MoRR) wrote on social media platform X that acting Refugee and Repatriation Minister Khalil Rahman Haqqani met with Indrika Ratwatte, director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, UNHCR.
They discussed problems of Afghan refugees in host countries, especially Pakistan and Iran, and the displaced families inside Afghanistan.
Ratwatte said he will go to Pakistan in near future to discuss with authorities the extension of documents of Afghan refugees and the issuance of documents to undocumented refugees.
Haqqani said meetings and talks should be fruitful and people should see their benefits.
He also emphasized on impartiality of institutions, their commitment to principles and laws.
