PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Awami National Party (ANP) has voiced its concerns over the ongoing crackdown on illegal Afghan nationals in the port city of Karachi.
Addressing a Pakhtun Culture Day function at Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi, ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan also regretted increasing incidents of Pakhtuns’ harassment in the port city.
The nationalist asked the federal and provincial governments to immediately halt ‘unconstitutional and unjust practice’ of discrimination against Pakhtuns.
While deploring the mass arrests of Afghans having proof of registration (PoR) cards and Afghan Citizen Cards (ACCs), Wali said they were living in Pakistan under the international refugee rules.
