JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Customs officials at Torkham crossing in eastern Nangarhar province have prevented the smuggling of 186 marriage certificates to Pakistan, an official said on Wednesday.
Officials say one individual has been arrested in connection with the smuggling of the marriage certificates.
Arafat Muhajir, information officer at Torkham town, told Pajhwok Afghan News 186 marriage certificates were confiscated during checking of goods by the customs officials.
He said the detainee was currently being interrogated.
Recently, an increasing number of Afghans are trying to leave for foreign countries and they need legal documents, including marriage certificate.
