KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs (MoIC) organizes calligraphy and art competitions next week on the occasion of Eid Melad-ul-Nabi.
Mohammad Younis Rashid, head of the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs, said 250 persons, including 20 girls, have registered for the competitions so far.
He said there is possibility that the number of participants may increase and added transparency is given priority and a committee would be constituted to address complaints after the competition was held.
“These kinds of events encourage youth to learn about the way of life of the prophet (PBUH), may Allah guide other officials of the IEA to organize similar events,” he said.
Mawlavi Ghulam Haidar Shahamat, the Education Technical and Vocational Department director, said: “The art and calligraphy competition is held to mark Eid Melad Nabi.”
He hailed the Etisalat Telecom Company for financial support for the event.
