KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi has discussed bilateral ties with representatives of Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan on the sidelines of the Moscow format meeting.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) deputy spokesman, wrote on his X handle that Muttaqi met with special representative of Saudi Arabia Prince Jiluwi bin Turki Al Saud on the sidelines of the Moscow format meeting.
Bilateral ties between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, increasing exchange of visits between the envoys of both sides and humanitarian aid came up for discussion during the meeting.
Meanwhile, special representative of Kyrgyzstan Talat Beg also met with Muttaqi on the sidelines of the Moscow format meeting.
Both sides talked about relations between the two countries and humanitarian assistance of Kyrgyzstan with the Afghans, Takal said.
The acting FM appreciated Kyrgyzstan for taking a positive stance on Afghanistan in regional and international meetings in addition to the Moscow format talks.
The Moscow format meeting regarding Afghanistan was held in Kazan city of Russia on Friday.
Seeking to spur efforts at promoting national reconciliation in the war-hit country, the Moscow format was set up in 2017.
The platform brings together Russia, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Its previous meeting took place in Moscow in November 2022 in the absence of IEA representatives. However, Kabul was invited to the Kazan huddle.
