TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Two rival families have ended their decade-old enmity following mediation from religious scholars and tribal elders in central Uruzgan province.
Police spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News the enmity between Sharifullah and Khair Mohammad families surfaced over family problems and ended on Friday with mediation from ulema and tribal elders.
He said the enmity had claimed the lives of one person each from the two families and both sides promised to live peacefully.
Baryalay, a member of Khair Mohammad family, said they had miserable life after the enmity started with Sharifullah family.
He said a decade ago a clash took place between them over children’s fight and it turned into violence, leaving one each from both sides dead.
According to him, during the past 10 years, they not only strived to be safe, but also tried to harm each other.
He was happy that currently they were living a peaceful life.
