Work on construction of canal worth 30m afs launched in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The construction work on a canal and eight culverts was launched on Monday at a cost of 30 million afghanis in western Herat province, an official said.

Mullah Abdul Raziq, mayor of Herat, at the inauguration ceremony of this project said the 2,800-metre-long and 1.5-metre-wide canal containing eight culverts would be built in four months.

He said the project would cost 30 million afghanis provided from development project of Herat municipality.

According to him, the scheme is being implemented by a private company in a standard way.
