PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Biden administration says it is ready to work with Pakistan on effective counter-terrorism strategies.
Commenting on recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan, the State Department spokesman noted both countries continued to face acts of terrorism, targeting civilians.
Matthew Miller extended sympathies for those killed and injured in the attacks, saying the Pakistanis had enormously suffered due to terrorism.
According to Dawn, Miller said: “We cooperate with Pakistan in a range of multilateral form on issues including terrorist designations and global strategies to defeat terrorist groups.”
The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies says the number of civilian casualties in militant attacks almost doubled in September, compared to the preceding month, despite 34 per cent fewer incidents.
The newspaper said in 65 militant attacks in September, 136 civilians, military and law-enforcement personnel lost their lives, while 144 were injured.
In August, the civilian death toll stood at 84, rising by 87 percent from 45. The number of attacks fell by 34 percent from 99 in August.
