Ghazni residents build school at own cost

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The residents of Ghazni City’s Amir Mohammad Khan locality in southern Ghazni province have laid down the foundation stone of a school building at their personal expenses.

Haji Zaki, a representative of the locality, told Pajhwok Afghan News the students of this school had to study under open sky in rain and hot weather and they were facing many other problems as well.

He said the school is being built on one acre land, it will be a two storey concrete building comprised of total 12 class and administrative rooms.

Over right million afs will be spent on the building which will be paid by the residents of locality and the construction work will be completed in six months, he added.

Haji Zaki said: “Now 1,200 children are busy studying in this school and after its building completion these students would be provided with proper building to study their lessons.”

Ghazni education officials hailed public partnership to build school building.

Education Director Qari Sibghatullah Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News schools are without standard buildings in most areas of Ghazni and the students are facing problems.

He also asked other people in Ghazni to learn from these people and facilitate their children study in better environment.

It is worth mentioning that the local resident of this area also laid the foundation stone of another school building last year but its construction has not completed as yet.
